Here, everything is presented as delectable, but there is a quality of artificiality, disorientation and a crumbling facade that breeds distrust and cynicism among the people.As the facade deteriorates, the dark, smoggy, industrial machine is revealed. Women are treated as objects of sex and desire, and men are economic tools of labour and money.
